Our featured pet is "Dixie". She is the sweetest girl and is really in need of finding her forever home. Dixie is a 7 month old spayed female Pointer mix. This baby girl was raised here and is the last of her litter to be adopted. Her issue is that she is only comfortable in the dog run! She is not brave enough to join the 'pack' so she chooses to live in the dog run. That is no place for her to live. She is now shy of people due to 'hiding herself' from people. She is finished with all her puppy shots and is current on a rabies vaccine as well. We have lowered her adoption fee to $100 to help find her a forever home.
Our beautiful dalmatian that we rescued in November finally got her surgery Friday December 7, 2007. "Molly" had turned up as a stray and when nobody claimed her, she could not be placed up for adoption due to an old injury she had suffered to her right rear leg. It had been broken pretty badly and never fixed. It healed in a way that she was limited on use and painful. It could not be fixed. We rescued her knowing we would have to amputate her leg. "Molly" is recovering nicely. She has learned to hop on her 3 legs and is healing a little each day. Thank you to everyone who was concerned for "Molly" and her recovery and a big Thank you to Dr. Egar at the Arizona Humane Society who did a wonderful job on her!! Molly is now in her forever home.
VJ Ranch is a horse boarding and leasing facility that also has a dog rescue. We rescue dogs from the Arizona Humane Society as well as many other shelters. These are dogs that would otherwise go to euthanasia. We would like to give a special thanks to all the wonderful staff at the Arizona Humane Society who work so hard to place as many animals as possible in the right places. And of course, this means all the special doctors and Second Chance Hospital staff as well, for all they do in caring for the sick and injured pets! They are a wonderful group of people and without them, we could not get all these wonderful dogs into loving homes!! All of our dogs are spayed/neutered and current on their vaccines. Here at the ranch they all live together with our family until they find their own family. They live with all the other dogs, cats, horses and have kids around daily! These dogs have truly been given a second chance and are awaiting their forever homes. Please come and meet the current gang if you are wanting to adopt a family member. We don't have any formal hours here at the ranch. We are very flexible. Our main goal is to place these wonderful dogs into their forever home and make it a good fit. We have an adoption application and agreement that all adopters must fill out. You will need to make an appointment to visit the dogs since we have no formal hours.
