We are a Public Charity exempt from Federal Income Tax under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. As such, our organization is qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers, or gifts, donations, and contributions under section 2055, 2106, or 2522 of the Code. Contributions to our organization are tax deductible to donors. The mission of our rescue organization is to take in, provide necessary veterinary care, and help find homes for many stray and unwanted animals of our region. We strive to find responsible pet owners who will provide a loving and caring environment for our pets, and who will continue to provide the veterinary care necessary to have a healthy and happy pet. We support low cost SPAY & NEUTER efforts wholeheartedly to help cut down on unwanted litters in our pet-overpopulated area. Please call to find out about where and when this service is available!!!

Who We Are

We are a group of volunteers passionate about taking care of and saving the lives of abandoned, unwanted, homeless, injured, and abused animals. This organization was established to help meet the overwhelming needs of our fourlegged friends. We rely heavily on donations from the public to help meet these precious animals' needs for food, medications, veterinary care, surgery, and rehabilitation. We always need volunteers who enthusiastically support our efforts and are willing to open their homes to foster litters of kittens, injured cats and dogs who need a little loving care so they can be adopted into good homes after they have healed - and fostering difficult, unsocialized, and neglected dogs and cats. We believe that euthanasia should be a last resort for animals beyond hope and suffering great pain.

Adopting a friend

Our adoption policy is as follows: We require vet and personal references. State law requires rabies vaccination for every pet. This is required within 7 days of adoption (if not up to date). We also require that all animals be neutered/spayed within 30 days of adoption if animal is old enough to be altered. Please email spanimalrescue@aol.com for an adoption application, more information and cost of adoption. You may also fill out an online application on our rescue's web site at www.spare.rescuegroups.org (click on Forms/Apps on left hand side of menu). If the animal has to be transported to its new home, the cost of transportation is the obligation of the adopter.
