Our Mission

Kee Kitty Friends is a cat rescue and transport established  to save and rehome owner surrendered cats going to  high kill shelters in the south Alabama--west Florida area.

Named in memory of Cherokee  a large brown spotted ocicat mix, Founder Sheila Andreasen became interested in the pet rescue effort when  hurricane Katrina came through in 2005. Transporting animals from New Orleans with a local animal rescue was a life changing experience. Kee Kitty Friends utilizes foster homes and  places/transports 60-80 cats per year through the use of  Petfinder, referrals  and networking with other rescue groups.  Application and adoption screening is required. Adoption fees vary.

Adoption Policy

Our cats are in foster care in homes in several locations.  Please call for an appointment to visit in the Dothan AL area.  We have flexible hours to meet with you to visit a cat and help you find a good match for your home/family.  Limited transport is available for mileage cost.
