WHO ARE WE; Rebeccas Paws and Claws is a non-profit 501c3 corporation. We are located in Blount County Alabama and have shelters in Hayden and Remlap. Although we incorporated in Feb 2011, we have been in continuous operation much longer, working with various shelters in Blount county. . We are volunteer based and a "all breed dog and cat rescue". We assist with low cost spay and neuter as much as possible, offer a food bank for people who need help, and offer educational advise and expertise when opportunity allows. RPACI is NO KILL. Currently we adopt in our southern states but now offer northern states adoption opportunities and transport the dog/pup to the states where allowed. Many lives have been saved but despite our efforts thousands more die... It is only with your support that we are able to save, rehabilitate and rehome these animals. Please consider making a life saving donation today. The animals will greatly appreciate you - they need you. IF WE DO NOT ADVOCATE FOR THEM THEN WHO. Thank you for helping them. NORTHERN ADOPTIONS. Because of the over population in the south we do adoptions in some northern states. We are a small group of people who want to make a difference in the lives of mistreated animals. The cries of pain and hunger are just to much for us to shut away. We decided to do something that would change the lives of these wonderful animals who committed the horrible crime of being born. We take animals that have little or no hope and make them ready for a home filled with love and happiness. Before you can be considered for adoption you must first fill out an application. Once approved, we will call for a informal chat so questions you may have can be answered. If you wish to proceed, then we start the transport process of getting your new family member to you. The transport company will call you to arrange a date and place where your new pet will be delivered. PEOPLE FROM THE NORTH ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FOLLOWING THE LAWS OF THERE INDIVIDUAL STATE. When your new pet arrives you will get the medical record and a Alabama Health Certificate as required by northern law. Please present this medical information to your family vet when you take your new pet to there first visit. If you have any questions concerning northern adoptions please do not hesitate to contact us!
Upon arrival of the pet, each is place in a loving holding area for 10 days to ensure the safety of our other pets. All are taken to the vet to be checked out and we start on the medical end to make ready for the pet to go to a new home. After the ten days, they are then placed into a foster home where their behavior is checked to ensure safety of the pet in a new home. We believe that there is a home for every pet, special needs pets as well, and are careful to inform the new family of all information concerning the new pet for the safety of all involved. We carefully match the pet to the family and are always willing to take our pet back if you decide for any reason you do not wish to provide a home for him/her. This rarely happens but if it does you are required to contact us for pick up. .Puppies are started on a series of puppy parvo shots as soon as we take possession of them if not before. This is normally a series of three shots to make sure that the puppy is given what he/she needs to fight off parvo and other deadly illness. If the dog/pup is 6 months or older we check for heart worms and the dogs are given a complete exam by our vet and given appropriate care and shots. *** WE WILL NEVER ADOPT A DOG OR CAT UNALTERED.*** We are always seeking appropriate foster homes which enable us to save more lives so they can live the life they deserve. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization so donations and your adoption fee may be tax-deductible. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent to a homeless dog or cat please do not hesitate to contact us.
