Did you find a cat that you're interested in? Great! Here's how to proceed:
1 - Email us about the cat(s) that you are interested in. If possible, please tell us what you are looking for in a pet and what your household situation is like (kids, other pets, etc.). This will help us determine if the pet you are interested in would be a good fit for your family. We want you and your companion animal to have a long, happy lifetime together, so we may ask you a few questions.
2 - If we believe that you and your chosen pet are a good match, we'll set up a meeting at your home so that you and your family members can meet him or her for the first time. Although pictures and biographies can give you a quick introduction, your chosen pet may be a bit more shy than what you were expecting, or he or she may require more grooming than what you have time for.
3 - If the adoption is approved, an adoption contract will be signed by both the adopter and I-Rescue. This is a legal and binding contract in which you promise, among other things, to treat the adopted animal humanely. If you are adopting a cat, the verbiage may also stipulate that you treat them like royalty. :) Copies of the adoption contract and the petís vet records will be provided to you for your records.
4 - Once the contract is signed, you are now the proud adopters of a wonderful new furkid! We will either leave him/her at your house during Step 2 or will schedule a second visit to give you time to get your cat's new "digs" set up. You'll need to have all necessary cat accoutrements available at that time (food, treats, food bowls, treats, bed, treats, litter box, treats, toys, etc. Did we mention treats?). We will check back periodically to see how your new family member is doing in their new home!
**Our adoption fee pays for current vaccinations, spaying or neutering, and microchipping. Compared to what you would pay individually, it's a bargain!**
If you have any questions, please e-mail us.
