Who We Are

The Madison Animal Rescue Foundation, a non-profit foundation, was founded and is run by volunteers. Our Mission is to rescue as many homeless animals from the City of Madison, Alabama as possible, and develop an adoption program. MARF strives to promote a positive public image for the City and is a strong advocate of responsible pet ownership which includes and is not limited to: monthly heartworm preventative, monthly flea/tick prevention, annual vaccinations, annual heartworm tests and spay/neuter of all current pets.

We are a grass-roots group of volunteers who formed in February 2009. In cooperation with Madison's Mayor, we are working to keep animals from being euthanized after seven days at Animal Control. Instead, Madison ARF steps in to find foster homes and eventually adoptive homes for these animals. We emphasize the importance of spaying and neutering to control the population of unwanted pets.
