Welcome to the Macon County Humane Society!
The Macon County Humane Society is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization established in 2003 in Macon County, Alabama. With our small group of active and highly dedicated members, we are making great strides in addressing the pet overpopulation problem and alleviating animal cruelty and suffering in our community. We will do much more, but we need your help.
The Macon County Humane Society is a volunteer organization that cares for abandoned and neglected animals rescued in Macon County. Without a shelter, we use a small foster care network of six volunteers to provide temporary care.
The Macon County Humane Society needs many more foster homes to provide a safe environment for more animals. If you love animals and would like to help, please consider joining the Macon County Humane Society as a foster caregiver.
At the Macon County Humane Society, our mission is:
* Providing public education regarding animal care and welfare,
* Preventing cruelty to animals,
* Eliminating animal overpopulation
* Operating an animal shelter dedicated to providing humane care of lost, injured, unwanted and abused animals and,

Become a Foster Caregiver!
Take one of our pets into your home until a new, forever home can be found.
If you become a foster parent, you are not only saving an animal from an uncertain future, you are increasing the number of animals that we can help.
The Macon County Humane Society provides the food and covers veterinary expenses, all you have to provide is love and companionship.
Adopt a Pet from a Shelter!
There are millions of wonderful, healthy and highly adoptable animals in animal shelters just waiting for a new home.
Sadly, many of these animals will never find one.
When you adopt from a shelter or rescue group, not only are you making the responsible choice, you are saving an animals life.
You are also refusing to contribute to the animal overpopulation crisis by providing a market for puppy or kitten mills that produce animals for profit.
At the Macon County Humane Society, we believe that used pets are a renewable resource of love and companionship!
