We are excited to announce that after months of waiting, Kool Kat Rescue was granted 5013(c) status retro from March 17, 2011.
Cindy Liggett, the inspiration and founder of Kool Kat Rescue has jumped ship and retired to Georgia. Sue Wirth has taken over the group. We still have lots of the same volunteers as before, who all do a wonderful job.
There are many wonderful reasons to add a cat or two to your family:
We are a group of cat lovers who have volunteered for many different animal related organizations and decided to band together and create our own much needed rescue group.
Located in Anchorage, Alaska, Kool Kat Rescue is a cat rescue/foster/adoption organization dealing primarily with the rescue of adult cats. All pets have had medical check-ups, have been micro-chipped and vaccinated, and those 3 months or older are (or will) be spayed or neutered. Cats have been leukemia tested.
The majority of cats in rescue are fostered in Sue's home and she can tell you their individual and unique personalities and match the perspective adoptive home with the purrfect cat. Our goal is to pursue each cat's placement into a permanent, caring home.
Please understand there is an adoption process and fee. These fees are then turned around and used to help another pet in their medical needs, or towards the rescue of another unfortunate castaway. Cats are primarily rescued from animal control shelters in Anchorage, Homer, Mat-Su,, Houston, Bethel, Nome, Unalaska, and some are owner releases because of various circumstances and some are flown in from bush communities.
Thank you for considering Kool Kat Rescue as your adoption site.
Visit our website for additional information, www.koolkatrescues.org.
To meet a cat you are interested in possibly adopting, give us a call and we can arrange for a visit, 907-863-4484.
We also have a selection of cats and possibly kittens as the Tikahtnu PetSmart (off of Muldoon) in their adoption center. Stop by any time the store is open to visit cats. Just ask an employee to meet the kitty you are interested in. Sue is generally at the store to meet and facilitate adoptions on Saturdays from 4-7pm and Sundays from 3-6pm.
