We wish to thank Fred Meyer for their new "Community Rewards" Program. By using your Fred Meyer rewards card you can select our organization to receive a donation from Fred Meyer. The program is easy to set up and use, just go to the web and Fredmeyer.com and sign up for the Community Rewards program by linking your rewards card number, and selecting our non profit from the list of organizations, then when you shop and use your rewards card at Fred Meyer, they will donate to us. It cost you nothing, but it helps support the community non profits. It's a great program and it really helps out a lot.
We have never been this low on adoptable cats since we started, which is a good sign that the spaying and neutering has been working. We always have cats, but the majority are feral, being boarded for families, or cats that have habits that make them unadoptable. Our adoption fee includes spaying/neutering, current vaccinations, and coupons for free items.
We no longer have any funding but we continue to help seniors adopt seniors.
We would like to extend a very special thank you to all the wonderful people of RAVN ALASKA (ERA Alaska) for their assistance in flying rescued animals through out Alaska. With their help we have been able to increase our number of adopted animals and help save more homeless pets.
We are always in need of foster homes. There are so many homeless animals that need an extra chance, so please consider giving them a temporary home so they can stay alive until a permanent home can be found. If you would like to try our foster home program, please contact us for more details and information.
We have received a grant from the Petco Foundation to help low income families with the spay or neuter of their pets. If you would like more information on how to get our assistance, please call 907-488-0516.
We are happy to offer a free listing of a LOST or FOUND pet for you, please call us and arrange to e-mail the information to us and we will get the information on line, ASAP. We also take in lost and found pets, and we do not charge a penalty or pickup fee to return the pet to you.
Please help us make a difference by letting us share some information, so you can decide for yourself how to help and the importance of changing the world for pets. Please visit these sites and learn what you can do to help the animals. EVERYONE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE, one person at a time, and we can change the world and make it better for the animals. These are good sites to visit: www.NOKILL.US, www.justonelitter.com, www.stoppuppymills.com, www.animalrescuecooperation.org.
We are a non profit 501 (c) 3 animal rescue group, that operates a no kill shelter. We are an all volunteer organization, we have no paid staff, so all our funding goes to help the animals and support the programs we offer. We sponsor and manage a low cost spay and neuter program called S.N.I.P. (Spay and Neuter Interior's Pets). We offer special services to low income families in need with their pets and support the community in many ways with pet problems. If you know someone that needs some help with their pets, have them call us. ALWAYS CALL BEFORE YOU COME BY, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER GROUP AND DO NOT MAINTAIN AN OFFICE. We will try to accomodate your needs if you call us first.
We offer a home trial period to make sure the animal is the right one for your family. You can try the animal in your home for up to 2 weeks before adopting. An animal should be for a life time not just a spur of the moment choice. Please be wise when picking pets for your family so that it can be a happy time for all.
Because we are an all volunteer group, we have limited hours of operation. We are open most Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 6 pm, and some evenings, but you need to call (488-0516) for an appointment for a weekday evening. We will always try to accomodate your needs if you call us first. We now accept credit cards, Visa or MasterCard. www.lovingcompanionsanimalrescue.org

We are going to be doing some upgrades to our dog kennels, for many years we have had to do with what we had, so hopefully we will be able to make some badly needed changes. Since we receive no State, Federal or Local government funding, we have always had to do what we could with the contributions and support we got from the public, but this year in the spring, with a small grant and a contribution from another foundation we will be doing some construction and concrete work, so if you have the skills and the time to help, we would appreciate your help.
We are always looking for caring people that can and are willing to take on special needs animals, pets that need a little extra help and time, so if you are that person, please call us, even if you can only help for a short time. Rescue and handling pets on a full time basis is rewarding but has a high degree of burn out and most people cannot take the time away from their regular lives to devote to animals, but if you would like to see what the job is like and would like to try it (any time period), come talk to us, see if you would like to try.
